| Welcome to the WetCanvas! second Café Guerbois Art Show.
WC! has been on-line since January of 1999 and over that span of time artists from all over the world have enjoyed coming to our virtual art community and sharing their works of art in the many forums. In keeping with the theme of the first art show in the WC! Café Guerbois, the artists participating are from the second set of top posters. Now it's time to hear what some of them have been saying about WetCanvas! Enjoy a stroll through the corridors of the art work created and read the comments about their WC! experience. Enjoy and do feel free to leave notes to the artists after viewing their splendid works :) |

Title: "Trail Within" Size: 11.6" x 16" Medium: Watercolour on 140# Arches paper. Year: 2002 This painting has come about through my learning from the many watercolour artists here at WetCanvas. The artists at WC! have been a major help to my learning of this difficult medium. Without the support of fellow WC'ers I probably would still be struggling. It seems that every day I learn something new in this medium from one of my fellow WC'ers. For that I appreciate all of the help and advice I have received. | ![]() |

Title: Kirchberg in Tyrol Size: 16" x 12" Medium: Winsor and Newton watercolours on Langton Rough paper Description: This is one of a series of paintings I did following a holiday in the Austrian Tyrol in 2001. The beautiful chalets, the manicured fields and the backdrop of mountains make the area a painters paradise. I particularly like this painting, which brings back happy memories of the holiday and is based on a photograph I took from the ski lift in Kirchberg village and shows the Evangelical church and the hills behind. Since I joined the WetCanvas forum, I have gained a lot of confidence and knowledge from the comments received, and my paintings have improved out of all recognition. I thoroughly recommend WetCanvas to anyone taking up art. Doug Elliot Ormskirk, Lancashire, England. |

Title: "Self-Portrait As Robert Plant" Medium: acrylic Size: 16 x 20 inches If I could thank every artist that has moved me from WetCanvas, my mouth wouldn't have time to eat, my hands would be too busy shaking to paint. As it is they are often typing more than painting anyway! The spirits that have made their way through the waves of the internet have helped me to be a better artist and have inspired me in countless ways. The message boards, open environment and huge amount of participating artists is something no studio or arts group I've belonged to can compare with, so much information and so many beautiful paintings keeps me coming back. See you in the basement. "Art cannot be modern; Art is primordially eternal." --Egon Schiele |

Title: Angel Rising Size: 3MP Medium: Digital Photography (Fuji Finepix S602) I was having great difficulty choosing a photograph for this exhibit but then I realized that the nurturing environment that is the Photography Forum gave me the courage to experiment in ways I never would have imagined. So I chose this one as it stemmed from an abstract macro project I took part in here on WC and discovered things I never would have otherwise. All in all during my time here I have learned a lot and made some great friends along the way. |
